LORDSTOWN, Ohio - We know now when Lordstown Motors will give the public its first peek at the electric pickup truck the company plans to manufacture at the former General Motors Assembly Plant.

Company officials have announced that it will hold a June 25 unveiling at the LMC headquarters on Hallock Young Road.

Lordstown Motors CEO Steve Burns and other company executives will hold a news conference at 4:15 pm, followed by the launch of the electric-powered Endurance truck at 5:30 pm.

Although the interior of the truck will be camouflaged, the company says it will share drawings with the media.

Members of the media will be given an opportunity to take a ride in the Endurance.

According to a statement from the company, this will be the Endurance's public debut, and the only time planned in the next few months to make the truck available to view in person.

The unveiling is restricted only to the media and other invited guests who must wear masks and practice social distancing.

The Endurance was scheduled to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in June, but the event was canceled due to coronavirus precautions.

The current timeline calls for hiring 400 people initially, with 1500 jobs projected.

The company hopes to begin delivering the Endurance early next year.
