Masks, sanitizer available for members of Mahoning Co. senior levy program

MAHONING COUNTY, Ohio - Seniors who are case-managed participants on the Mahoning Co. Senior Levy Program will be receiving a free wellness kit, including a mask, sanitizer and coronavirus information.
The masks were purchased from the Rondenelli Corporation in Youngstown. The kit will also contain a bottle of hand sanitizer purchased from Candella’s Micro Distillery in Youngstown and information on additional programs available to seniors in Mahoning Co. Each bag also includes information on how to wear a mask properly, how to wash their masks, and how to keep safe during COVID-19 pandemic.
Case managers for the seniors will deliver each bag to the senior’s home.
Direction Home of Eastern Ohio, who oversees the levy program, has worked with local entities to provide bags filled with items to assist area seniors during the pandemic.
The Mahoning County Senior Levy program's purpose is to provide case-managed supportive services to those 60 and older in Mahoning C0. who are up-to-date on property taxes, and do not qualify for any other assistance program and meet functional impairment criteria.
The levy funds provide seniors case management services, allowing them to remain in their homes. Some of the services include personal care, home-delivered meals, emergency response buttons, adult day services, and chore services.
