A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a teenager wanted in connection with a murder case that has spurred an intensive investigation in the City of Akron.

The U.S. Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force has announced that a reward of up to $5,000 is available for information that leads them to the capture of 17-year-old Adarus Black.  Black is wanted for the shooting death of 18-year-old Na’kia Crawford.

Akron police say Crawford was shot several times Sunday afternoon while she was in a car around E. North St. and N. Howard St.  Crawford died later at Akron Summa Hospital.

Congressman Tim Ryan issued a statement following the shooting. “My heart broke when I heard the news of this senseless loss of life. While this murder is still under investigation and we have more questions than answers at the moment, the truth is that Na’kia Crawford should still be with us today,” said Ryan

In addition to Adarus Black, police have issued warrants for the arrests of Jaion Bivins, of Akron and Janisha George, 24, of Tallmadge on charges of obstructing justice.
