No trick: Lisbon Sparkle to close Saturday

A lot of people have strong connections to their local grocery store so when one closes it's a pretty big deal for that neighborhood. It's happening in Lisbon at the Sparkle market on Halloween.
A few dedicated shoppers were there Friday picking up what's left on the shelves since the store officially closes it's doors on Saturday.
The owner of the Sparkle grocery chain, Vincent Furrie, told 21 News that the area surrounding the Lisbon location is is oversaturated with dollar stores. That competition along with an aging building that he says needed expensive remodeling led to the decision to close the store.
Jim Maruschak's been shopping here for 15 years. He says there isn't a place to go locally that has extensive meat and produce sections like Sparkle had
"I like the store. I come come here all the time. I like their products. I'm going to have to travel to columbiana. It's 10 miles for me now that will be 20 miles. It's not a good thing," said Maruschak.
Store manager Kevin Hill says many of the employees will be going to other Sparkle locations.
"The community is going to miss having the full service grocery here and we are going to miss being here. It's been a long run for our company here and it was a very hard decision for them to make to call an end to this," said Hill.
The building and the rest of the property will be auctioned off on November 20th.
