Warren police identify shooting victim, seeking information on suspect
Warren police are investigating a shooting at a plaza that sent a 20-year-old man to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to a police report, Maurice Evans of Warren sustained a "major injury" when he was shot several times on the 1300 block of Youngstown Road SE just before 5:30 pm Wednesday, Feb. 17.
Initial reports say the man was shot in the arm and back five or six times at point-blank range.
According to the report, the suspect was driving a gray Pontiac with a single driver that was wearing a black mask.
Witnesses told officers that the shooter was described as African American but could not say if the person was male or female. The police are seeking the public's help in identifying a person of interest in the case, seen in the images released by the Warren Police Department Thursday.
The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
