Members of the Western Reserve Port Authority say they're in serious talks to bring a commercial airline service back to the Youngstown Warren Regional Airport.

John Moliterno tells 21 News the port authority has been working for the past two years to bring planes back to fly to destinations like Florida.

Talks stalled because of the COVID-19 pandemic but now are back on since more people are traveling again.

"PLANES ARE FULL THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE COUNTRY PEOPLE ARE COMFORTABLE TRAVELING AGAIN WE'RE BACK HAVING VERY SERIOUS CONVERSATIONS WITH AIRLINES ABOUT FLYING OUT OF OUR AIRPORT," said Moliterno.

Moliterno adds that JobsOhioNow has an aviation division that is helping the port authority bring commercial activity back to the airport.
