LIBERTY TWP, Ohio - A dog that was found abandoned and malnourished behind the Liberty Walmart in late April has died, according to a Facebook post from the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County.

The pup, named Sunny, was found on April 29th. She was severely malnourished, and had obvious collar marks around her neck, implying that she did have an owner.

Sunny was picked up by the Trumbull County Dog Pound and transported to the Mahoning Valley MedVet.

The Animal Welfare League provided updates on their Facebook page as Sunny progressed. She was given fluids, antibiotics, and pain medicine in attempt to save her.

Unfortunately, the Animal Welfare League announced Saturday that Sunny did not survive despite the efforts to save her.

Anyone who recognizes Sunny or has any information about her owner is asked to call the AWL at 330-539-5300 and speak to a Humane Agent.
