SHARON, Pa. - The owner of a Sharon McDonalds will donate more than $25,000 to an employee that suffered life changing injuries while walking to work.

In January, 33 year-old Stephanie Tubb was struck by a garbage truck. As a result of the crash, she suffered severe injuries and both of her legs are now amputated right above the knee.

TomTreyCo McDonald's, one the largest franchisees in the nation, recently held a fundraiser to support Tubb. The effort raised $25,000.

In addition, the Mahoning Valley mcDonald's Owner Operators also came together to support Tubb.

In total, more than $30,000 was raised.

"Stephanie Tubb is a cherished member of the community, and wife, mother and sister. Ensuring she had the resources to recover was of utmost importance to the TomTreyCo and Mahoning Valley McDonald’s Owner Operators, who thank the community for coming together to do just that," said TomTreyCo. in a press release.

In April, Tubb shared with 21 News a video and update on her recovery. In the video, Tubb can be seen learning to walk with a portion of a prosthetic leg.
