CANFIELD, Ohio - The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program, Mahoning County 4-H and OSU Extension Mahoning County is planning a food and toiletries drive to benefit food pantries in the Youngstown City School District.

Donations can be brought to the OSU Extension Mahoning County Office (490 S Broad St.) in Canfield from Friday, June 17th to Thursday, July 28th from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

High priority items include single-serve mac & cheese cups, hamburger helper, ravioli and cereal. Canned goods, peanut butter, jelly, apple sauce and instant oatmeal are also needed.

Toiletry items needed include body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant and feminine hygiene products.

The school-based food pantries serve limited resource students in helping them feed themselves with easy-to-make foods.
