Mill Creek MetroParks Spray Basin reopens in time for hot weather

The basin has been closed since May 31 after a nozzle at the basin was vandalized.

YOUNGSTOWN - Just in time for the return of hot weather, Mill Cree MetroParks has announced that a great place for kids to cool off is back in service.

The Scholl Spray Basin, located at Scholl Recreation Area has been repaired and is open for use.

The basin has been closed since May 31 after a nozzle at the basin was vandalized.

The spray is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. through 7 p.m. through Labor Day.

You can find the Walter Scholl Recreation Area near the intersection of Bears Den Rd. and Normandy Drive on Youngstown’s West Side.
