Salem Police asking for whereabouts of man accused of beating girlfriend, assaulting officer

SALEM, Ohio - The Salem Police Department is asking the public for information on the whereabouts of a violator at large in the area.
Thirty-three-year-old Christopher Lee Hyler (pictured above) is wanted by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority. Police advise the public not to approach Hyler, as he is considered to be dangerous.
Police say he was last seen near the WalMart on East State Street.
In 2020, Hyler was arrested by the Jackson Township Police Department for allegedly beating his girlfriend and attempting to bite a police officer's ear. Hyler was charged with kidnapping, felonious assault, retaliation, escape and resisting arrest.
