Lawyers representing dozens of residents at Park Vista of Youngstown have filed a complaint against the facility.
It claims that promises to fix an underground parking garage have been broken, and that no repair work has been done.

The complaint, filed Wednesday, calls for the rent of more than 30 tenants to be held in escrow until Park Vista sends a crew to fix the issues in that underground parking garage.

The facility closed that garage last year.
It also calls for Park Vista to not move the tenants out in the process and pay all the court costs involved.

This stems from issues the city raised back in late June. At that time, the city gave Park Vista 30 days to shore up that garage and do a structural analysis of the building. Two engineering crews determined there is no danger of collapse to the north tower as some first feared.

But the lawyers for those tenants tell 21 News that nothing has been done to restore access to the garage they say they need to safely and comfortably access their building.

"The county building engineer said 'you've got a copy of the forensic engineer's report that said this is a serious matter, fix the garage'. That was a month ago, and nothing has been done. So next week we're going to the court and asking them to enforce those orders by taking the residents' rent, which we put in escrow, and using it to fix the garage," said Hunter Morrison, president of the Park Vista Residents' Association.

The hearing on this complaint is set for August 4.
We've also contacted Park Vista administrators and are waiting to hear back.
