Check your chicken; Perdue is issuing a public health alert.

The alert is for Perdue brand frozen, ready-to-eat, gluten-free chicken tenders that were produced on July 12, 2022. It follows a report of small pieces of clear plastic and blue dye in a piece of chicken.

The affected products have a 'Best if used by:' date of July 12, 2023. Immediately under the date is a code that will read 'P-33944' if the bag is included in the alert.

The products were shipped to BJ's Wholesale Club locations nationwide. The closest BJ's Wholesale Clubs to the Mahoning Valley are in Akron, Pittsburgh, and North Canton.

The Food Safety and Inspection Service asks consumers to check their freezers and throw away or return any affected bags of chicken.

There have been no reports of adverse reactions due to the contamination.
