Trumbull & Sharon Regional Medical Center to host Prostate Cancer Awareness events

It's Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and the Trumbull and Sharon Regional Medical Center is making sure men know about their risk.
According to the medical center, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, other than skin cancer. One in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
"Prostate cancer can often be found early by testing for prostate-specific antigens, in a man's blood" said Dr. Saad Hatahet, Urologist at Trumbull Regional and Sharon Regional Medical Center. "Men should make an informed decision with their provider considering age, ethnicity, and family history to determine when they should be screened for prostate cancer."
To raise awareness and keep men healthy, Trumbull and Sharon Regional Medical Center will hold two community events for men who want to learn more about their health.
The first event will be virtual and will discuss the risks associated with enlarged prostate, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and treatment options. That will be held on September 28 at 6 p.m. To register for the virtual event, click here.
A second event will be in person on Thursday, September 29 at 5 p.m., and will offer free community men's health and wellness screenings. It will be held at the Warren City Health Department. To register for the in person event, click here.
