Achilles “Fuzzy”  Palumbo of Boardman passed away at the age of 75 on Saturday, December 31, 2022 with his family by his side.

Born November 1, 1947, in Youngstown, “Fuzzy” as he was known got his start dancing at 15 yrs. old after winning a local dance contest catching the attention of Fred Astaire dance studio.

 He began teaching at the studio and in the late 60's early 70's Palumbo began traveling with dance troupes around the country, dancing in California, Florida, and New York before returning to the Youngstown area.

Known as “Mr. Elastic” from his unique moves, in the late 70’s, he opened the Cabaret Dance Studio on the Northside of Youngstown.

He worked with St Elizabeth Hospital Guild, and Easy Street Productions with the Youngstown Playhouse, YSU, teaching dance at the vocational school and the local YMCA.

He choregraphed fashion shows for the different guilds throughout the Youngstown and Warren area, often using his dance students in his shows.

In the late 80’s, Palumbo closed his dance studio and moved to Baltimore and started a new career, serving as Activities Director for various nursing homes. H

Palumbo moved back to the Youngstown area in 2017 to be closer to family.

He married his husband, Randall Tullis in 2021.

At Palumbo’s request, there will be no services. There will be a Celebration of Life later.
