A wintery, icy event is returning to the Eastwood Event Centre in Niles for its second year.

The Second Annual Eastwood Ice Fest will return Sunday, February 5 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Students from Kent State University's Hospitality and Event Management Program will demonstrate their ice-carving skills as part of a class project.

The students have partnered with the venue to plan plenty of activities for the whole family such as ice carving demos, story time courtesy of Books-A-Million, costumed character meet-and-greets, a performance by YSU's Dana Chorale and much more.

In addition, the venue will also have a complimentary hot chocolate bar and local chefs will compete in a "Soup-er-Bowl" cookoff event. Guests will be able to taste test the soups and donations to the Soup-er-Bowl will benefit the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County.

Ice carving will take place outside the venue, but all other activities will take place inside.
