Sebring sixth grade moved from Jr./Sr. High School to Elementary School

SEBRING, Ohio - When classes begin next week in the Sebring Local Schools, the district’s 21 sixth graders will go to the B.L. Elementary instead of McKinley Junior Senior High School.
The Board of Education met early Friday to approve a plan to move the sixth grade out of the high school where those classes have been held for the past four years.
Superintendent Toni Viscounte tells 21 News that the sixth grade had been relocated to the high school because of a reading program that is no longer in effect.
Viscounte says the sixth graders can now participate in a vibrant after-school program offered at B.L. Elementary and have more of an opportunity to take part in the district's athletic programs designed for kindergarten through sixth grade.
The superintendent says the parents of the sixth graders were informed of the move earlier.
