Youngstown School Board to hold special meeting about negotiations Friday

The Youngstown Board of Education will hold a Special meeting at 5pm on Friday at the Choffin Career and Technical Center, according to a release from the district.
The meeting, which will take place in the Common Area at Choffin, will take place just hours after a State Employment Relations Board session which will decide on whether or not the YEA's strike is or is not authorized under state law.
If the strike is ruled unauthorized by the SERB, YCSD could decide to levy retroactive punishments against striking teachers for the three days they would've been striking up to that point.
The meeting is also set to take place on the currently slated first day of school for the district, based around remote learning which the YEA has been discouraging Youngstown parents and families from taking part in.
