Animal Charity Valentine fundraiser offers space on litterboxes for names of exes

A charitable organization is using humor and the occasion of Valentine’s Day to raise money to fund its mission to save abused, abandoned, and neglected animals in Mahoning County.
Posing the question: “Do you have a crappy ex?”, for a $15 donation, Animal Charity of Ohio says it will write your exes name on a litter box just in time for Valentine's Day.
A message on the free fundraising website, givebutter.com, asks “Did your ex treat you really crappy? You deserve better! Treat yourself this Valentine's Day by having us write your ex's name on a litter box and we'll let our rescue cats do what they do best!”
Ten hours after posting the offer on Animal Charity’s Facebook page, ten people had reserved a spot, raising a total of $150 for the organization.
Those signing up will receive a confirmation email with a link to a Google form where the recipient’s name can be submitted.
According to the website, all proceeds benefit Animal Charity of Ohio.
Although Valentine’s Day is thought of as an occasion to celebrate love, Animal Charity isn’t alone in using it to help people who no longer feel the effects of Cupid’s arrow.
