A mental health convention seeking to tear down the stigma surrounding the various forms it may take will soon be coming to Youngstown.

The Mental Health and Wellness Exp will happen at the Downtown Youngstown Public Library on May 11 at 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

This year's theme is "Re-Authorizing the Narrative Around Health," and aims to highlight the importance of mental and emotional well being in overall health, according to a news release from the expo.

"We believe that helping people discover the right fit at the right time improves outcomes and reduces long-term healthcare costs," says Kelly Younkins, founder of the expo. "By promoting awareness and providing practical guidance, we're facilitating a new narrative around seeking therapeutic and wellness services."

An assortment of vendors will be featured that will focus on different domains of health and wellness, including holistic practitioners.

It will also include live demonstrations, resources and opportunities to connect with professionals to learn about to expect from wellness services.

Raffles and prize giveaways from local companies will also be included at the event, according to a news release from expo orgnizers.
