A New Castle man will spend time behind bars after pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges involving cocaine and fentanyl.

Donald Jeter, 34, plead guilty to conspiring to distribute fentanyl and cocaine between 2021 and 2022 and to possessing a firearm in August 2022 after a felony conviction, according to court documents.

Federal law prohibits possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon.

Sentencing for Jeter will be held Sept. 24.

He could see up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $1 million or both.
