CLEVELAND, Ohio - If you plan on going up north to visit Lake Erie in the next couple of days, the National Weather Service advises against going for a swim.
A Coastal Hazard Message issued early Thursday says there is a high risk of rip currents along the shore in Ashtabula and Lake Counties.
Wind and waves will cause currents on the lakeshore that can carry swimmers away from shore out into the lake.
The advisory is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Saturday afternoon.
