YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Congressman Tim Ryan says he canceled Tuesday's health care meeting because of safety concerns.

The Congressman says there were a number of people with the Tea Party waiting for him at the health care clinic where the meeting was scheduled.

He says he has no problem debating anyone about the health care plan but he says a clinic where people are receiving care is not the place to do it.

He says there was no security in place and he's received threats so he felt it would be best to cancel the event.

"The threats against me have been to kill me, to kill my staff, to blow up the building I'm in and so I'm going to go to a clinic with a bunch of people who are semi-associated with those kinds of remarks and put everyone else in jeopardy," says Congressman Ryan. "Not only is it rude and disrupts their care but it's unsafe and it would be irresponsible I think for me."

Ryan says he's working to reschedule the meeting for next week in a more appropriate location.
