LAWRENCE COUNTY - On Friday, the driver of the SUV that killed 68-year-old Daniel Gallatin, faced six criminal charges.

Laura Gargiulo is charged with homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault, involuntary manslaughter and prohibiting text-based communications. She was also charged with careless driving and reckless driving.

Gargiulo is said to be at fault for the death of Gallatin, the former Scott Township Volunteer Fire Department cheif.

The Lawrence County district attorney wants to find out if texting played a part in the traffic death.

Investigators are obtaining phone records of the driver, who's SUV struck Gallatin's motorcycle on route 956, May 7 in Hickory Township.
