CANFIELD, Ohio - The Canfield Police Department is helping to bring some holiday cheer early this year during a Christmas in July toy drive.
The police department will be sponsoring the toy drive to benefit Akron Children's Hospital.
During the event, kids can enjoy seeing a Canfield K9 named Rocky and McGruff the crime dog.
Police officers will also be there to make identification kits for kids.
The following items are being requested: new stuffed animals with tags, art supplies, coloring books, action figures, medical toy kits, play-doh and Lego/Duplo sets. They ask that people not bring any food, candy, balloons, sharp objects or small choking hazard items.
The benefit will be at the Canfield Village Green on July 25 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
