BOARDMAN, Ohio - During Breast Cancer Awareness Month a non profit is raising money to help women who are in a battle for their lives.

The Apple Breast Cancer Warrior Foundation is inviting people and families to stop by in their favorite costumes, Saturday October 17th, from 10:00 a.m. in the morning to 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon for a monster bash at Youngstown Cycle and Speed on Market Street in Boardman.

Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Green will have the Pink Ribbon Police car there and hand out candy for kids.

You and your family can enjoy the fall weather outdoors and check out hot rods, classic cars, monster trucks, and motorcycles.

There are plenty of gift baskets up for raffle, along with a 50-50 raffle.

Plus you can help others by dropping off a donation in honor or memory of someone you love.

Michelle Apple, a two year survivor of breast cancer, is the founder of this non profit organization.

Apple said, "Many women and families can't afford high deductibles, plus travel and other expenses add up. The foundation helps cover deductibles and medical bills not covered by insurance."

A few weeks ago the Apple Warrior Foundation paid a $2,000 deductible for a patient so she could begin treatment.

The foundation has given comfort bags  to the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center in Youngstown, to the Hope Center in Warren, and to oncology or cancer centers and hospitals in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The comfort bags contain items that provide some Tender Loving Care.

Apple told us her fight with breast cancer inspired her to help others.
