COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has vetoed a bill that would void the Director of Health's order regarding county fairs.

DeWine vetoed Amended Senate Bill 375, saying it is not in the best interest of protecting the health and safety of Ohioans.

The bill came after DeWine announced decisions to limit all fairs to junior fair events to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

DeWine says any modifications to the to the order or potential rescinding of the order must be made with health professionals.

He said a blanket rescission of the current Ohio order would not achieve the goal of working together to plan for the upcoming fair season.
