BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio - Boardman Police are investigating the link between two incidents involving a recent round of gunfire and another with a large group of juveniles found fighting.

Last Thursday, June 17, around 7:40 p.m. Boardman Police Department officers were dispatched to the area in the 8400 block of Market Street for reports of a fight involving approximately ten juveniles.

When officers arrived they found several juveniles leaving the area on foot and spoke with them concerning the report of the fight.

During that interaction, police say one individual became combative with officers, subsequently fled, and was later apprehended.

That juvenile was taken for medical evaluation to Akron Children's Hospital and then to the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center.

Then on Saturday, June 19, around 5:25 p.m. Boardman Police responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Sugartree Drive in Boardman.

Witnesses reported seeing an argument between two groups, with several individuals leaving the scene in a black four-door vehicle.

Police say as they drove away several shots were fired from the vehicle windows into the air.

No injuries were reported during the second incident.

Then on Thursday, Boardman Police Department executed a search warrant on Arlene Avenue in Boardman.

Police say the search was related to individuals involved in the above two incidents but did not specify how.

Charges in both incidents are pending.

Police ask if the public has any more information related to these incidents, please contact Boardman Police Department at 330-726-4144, and request to speak with Officer Woods or Baker.
