YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown State University is inviting residents to meet the university's Marching Pride on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 7:00 p.m. in Stambaugh Stadium.

The Marching Pride will perform their pregame and halftime shows, as well as the university's Fight Song. The Penguinettes, the Feature Twirler and members of the Drumline will also make appearances.

YSU is also welcoming a new director this year. Dr. Kate Ferguson is stepping in as the new Director of Athletic Bands, previously teaching in the Akron Public, Crestwood Local and Cuyahoga Falls City School Districts. Ferguson says she's excited to be a part of the YSU family.

"There have been many changes over the past few years, but one thing that will never change is the camaraderie and enthusiasm that exists in the Marching Pride. I am honored to be so welcomed to YSU and am so excited to be a part of the Marching Pride family," Ferguson said.

The event will be free and open to the public. Parking is available for a nominal fee in the M-81 lot across from the Watson and Tressel Training Site accessible from Service Road. The west stands will be available for patron viewing.
