Preteen girl rushed to hospital after drive-by shooting in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN - A 10-year-old girl is in the hospital after Youngstown police say she was shot Monday afternoon.
Officers report that the girl was the victim of a drive-by shooting on South Evanston Avenue on Youngstown's west side. She was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in a private vehicle moments later. YPD said she could not wait for an ambulance.
Investigators told 21 News the young girl was shot in the arm and is in stable condition.
Investigators said a home in the neighborhood was shot up during the incident. Over a dozen stray shells were found at the scene. Police believe at least two different weapons were used.
Now officers are searching for what they described as a "possible" blue Nissan vehicle with multiple passengers. Specifics were not confirmed, but that vehicle may be involved with the incident.
21 WFMJ crews observed police officers going door to door and speaking with residents in the neighborhood.
YPD shut down the street shortly after 4:30 p.m. all the way down to Mayfield Avenue.
