Howmet Aerospace reaches agreement with United Steelworkers

Howmet Aerospace's operation in Niles has reached a collective bargaining agreement with the United Steelworkers.
The deal, reached on July 10, represents about 77 percent of the Niles Operation workforce, according to Howmet.
Some of the provisions in the agreement include competitive general wage increases over the life of the four-year contract, an emphasis on work-life balance for employees and increased flexibility to promote cost competitiveness and sustainability of the Niles facility.
Howmet's primary businesses focus on jet engine components, aerospace fastening systems, and airframe structural components necessary for mission-critical performance and efficiency in aerospace and defense applications, as well as forged aluminum wheels for commercial transportation.
