Juvenile flown to hospital after being stabbed at George Jr. Republic

The Mercer County District Attorney is deciding if assault charges will be filed after a juvenile was stabbed with a pencil at George Junior Republic.

PINE TWP., Mercer Co., Pa. - The Mercer County District Attorney is deciding if assault charges will be filed after a juvenile was stabbed with a pencil at George Junior Republic.

State Police say a juvenile stabbed another juvenile who had attacked him in his room on Friday at the Pine Township facility for at-risk males between the ages of 8 to 18.

The wounded juvenile was flown by medical helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of injuries to his torso. Police have not revealed the condition of the victim.
