Warren man sentenced after killing girlfriend's fish with bleach, vinegar

A warren man has been sentenced for killing several fish that belonged to his ex-girlfriend with bleach and vinegar, among other things.
Cornell Evans, 60, was charged with cruelty to animals, disorderly conduct and criminal damaging. He plead guilty to all three counts.
He received a sentence of 90 days for cruelty to animals and criminal damaging with a credit of five days served. After that, he'll be on probation for two years.
For disorderly conduct, he was charged with eight days in jail, with a credit of one day served.
Evans has also been ordered to pay $500 in restitution for killing the fish, which must be paid in six months.
A no contact order was also issued.
The sentencing stems from a June incident in which Warren Police responded to a home on the 1200 block of Mazda Avenue NE on Sunday for a disturbance.
Upon arrival police located Evans standing outside shirtless. Police say the left side of his face was bloody and swollen.
Police say Evans was and his girlfriend were arguing about their relationship.
Evans told police that Magee took what he believes to be a TV tray and hit him in the face with it. According to the report, Magee locked the bedroom door after this, but Evans kicked it in to get his phone to call police. Magee denied hitting Evans.
Magee told police that Evans took bleach and vinegar and poured it into her fish tanks.
