Ohio Governor, Mike DeWine has announced on Friday that he has appointed Jennifer Ciccone as interim judge for the Struthers Municipal Court.

Ciccone will be serving as judge for the remainder of judge Dominic Leone's term. Leone had submitted a letter of resignation to Governor DeWine earlier in September.

In order to retain her seat, Ciccone must run for election in November 2023 and win. Leone originally ran for reelection, but lost to fellow Democratic candidate, James Melone. Ciccone will be running against Melone as a Republican in the general election in November.

Ciccone currently serves as the practicing attorney and owner of the Ciccone Law Firm, previously working as a civil commitment attorney for the Trumbull County Probate Court and also served as a conflict prosecutor for New Middletown.
