Akron Children's Hospital seeking applicants for research scholars program

While summer has come and gone, it's never too soon to start looking ahead to next year - especially if it involves your future.
The 10-week program program will be hosted by the Rebecca D. Considine Research Institute in Akron and is open to co9llege sophomores and juniors considering careers in the health care industry.
The institute says it is focused on developing new medicines, therapies, devices & procedures to improve the health of kids.
The program begins in June and requires at least 24 hours per week from the students, who will be paired with a clinical investigator while conducting a clinical research project. The will also learn about study design, research methods, biostatistics and pediatric healthcare.
Additionally, students will be able to shadow clinical teams in various hospital departments, this includes neonatal intensive care units to sports medicine.
A stipend for the program is given as a paid scholarship to each student's college. No housing or other accommodations will be provided.
An application, two reference letters an essay and a resume must be submitted by Nov. 17.
