EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio - A Beloit man has entered a no contest plea to charges related to a triple fatal crash that killed an East Liverpool man.

According to court employees, 55-year-old Douglas Mackey withdrew his original plea of not guilty and entered a no contest plea to three counts of vehicular homicide.

The charges stem from a crash that occurred in Carroll County, Ohio in April of 2023 that killed 60-year-old Randy Simmons of East Liverpool along with two other men from Hammondsville, Ohio.

Troopers with OSP say the crash occurred when Mackey struck a Honda Odyssey head on after traveling left of center into the opposite lane.

Mackey is scheduled to be sentenced on these charges March 27 in the Carroll County Municipal Court at 10:30 a.m.
