Some shopping had to take the back seat for a couple of minutes as the moon passed in front of the sun. 21 News joined the crowds at the Eastwood Mall for the watch party there. 

The parking lot near the was packed as people gathered to watch the total solar eclipse.

While waiting for moon to make an appearance, people were given solar eclipse glasses, played games and offered giveaways.

People from around the Midwest made their way to the party, one family traveled six hours to catch a glimpse of the eclipse.

People of all ages say they were left astonished by the total solar eclipse.
